Autumn is coming, so… (drum roll)… time for the ceramics fair Dordrecht 2018. More than 60 ceramists from Holland and abroad on the Statenplein (square) in the heart of Dordrecht, it is outside so I hope for good weather!
Ceramics Fair Dordrecht 2018
Sunday October 7
Statenplein (city centre)
11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
But however the weather will be, this year I will be there again (stall 34). So if you are looking for an unique gift for someone special (or just for your own collection), come along! And if you want to come and say goodbye, you are also more than welcome;-)
19th Ceramics Fair Dordrecht 2018
It is evident by the many ceramics fairs in Holland alone, there is a lot of interest in potters craft. Although not the oldest, the Ceramics Fair Dordrecht 2018 is already the 19th in a row. By now mature and it is become the place where many ceramists like me want to show their work to a “live” audience.
Although I also watch many ceramics online, you should, as a ceramics lover, sometimes leave your screen . The ceramics fair in Dordrecht is such a moment, at least for me. You must be able to feel and hold ceramics. The depth of the glazes can only be seen well “in the flesh”, preferably on a sunny day (and a caffè latte in your hand).
Ceramics addict
Of course, as a real ceramics addict, you will love to meet your fellow ceramics junkies. You can enjoy handmade ceramics even more, if you can share your specific addiction. A good conversation about why, shape, finishing or the technique is invaluable. And it also makes your caffè latte taste much better.
On a ceramics fair, you can extend your ceramics collection, but also learn a lot. In addition, refueling before autumn really hits is a must for every ceramics addict. Moreover the holiday season is even closer than you think. So if you want that unique gift on time, now is your chance.
In short there are many reasons to come to the fair, what is yours?
Directions
The ceramics fair on the Statenplein is about ten minutes walk from train station Dordrecht Centraal (Bus 20 – 21).
With your back to the station you walk straight into town (Stationsweg), you continue straight on (Joh. de Witt Street) until the road turns left. (Bus 3, 4, 5 – 2, 7, 23). Go straight ahead and then walk to the left (Bagijnhof), then the wide shopping street on the right (Sarisgang) where you will reach the Statenplein after a few minutes.
If you arrive by car, follow Dordrecht Centrum and then parking garage Drievriendenhof. Here you can park, in the Korte Kolfstraat. Leaving this parking garage by foot, turn left and you are practically standing on the Statenplein.
You can also leave your car behind the Energiehuis on the Noordendijk. This is about ten minutes walking distance from the Statenplein.
