What connects all the ceramic artists in the world? A passion for clay. How do we honor the clay? In different ways. The ceramists of North-Holland, united in the SKNH, celebrate this passion the next two weekends in Tuitjenhorn and everyone is welcome at the party!
And how do you start a great ceramic feast? With a cleanup and to stock bee… uh I mean to arrange sculptures. And that’s exactly what all thirty ceramists of North-Holland have done today. And yes that meant I had to work too…

No exposition without unpacking
Today it was lugging pedestals, wrapping sculptures for transport and unpacking on the spot. Search for my space, pedestal cleaning, chatting etc etc. Organizing an exhibition is always an experience (and fatiguing).
According to my girlfriend, who is also my partner in crime at exhibitions and ceramic fairs, I talk way too long and I work too slowly… (I think the photo’s contradict this).
However the case may be, a passion for clay is not only throwing behind your wheel and being Zen.
The ceramics feast can start
For now the work has been done and the ceramics feast can begin. The next two weekends the exhibition is open and everyone can enjoy the more than 300 ceramic sculptures.
You are cordially invited to visit the exhibition!
It only remains for me to thank the board of the SKNH for their efforts. I think I have worked hard, but the truth is that they have done much more. All preparations for this annual exposition, which I always like to take part in, rest entirely with them. And everything went smoothly as usual.
Therefore, like every year, many thanks lovable people of the SKNH board:-)
Do you already know why you shouldn’t miss this exposition? If not, read the press release of the SKNH. You will be sorry if you missed it.

Large retrospective ceramics of the members SKNH
The members of the Stichting Keramisten Noord-Holland exhibit the first two weekends of March in the beautifully rurally located former Town hall Harenkarspel in Tuitjenhorn. This location is at short distance between Alkmaar and Schagen.
This modern building with its museum-worthy look, beautiful light and ample parking is now called De OndernemersCentrale (DOC).
There will be more than 300 unique works of ceramics to be seen. Many applicable techniques that are possible with clay show a great diversity.
Throwing, casting, hand forming, etc., but also many decorations, firing and glazing techniques that the ceramic artists use, make it worthwhile to come and take a look. All works of art are also for sale.
One thing all ceramists have in common. The passion for clay. The present ceramists are happy to tell you about it.
You are welcome!
